Novel Nematocidal Compounds from Shrimp Shell Wastes Valorized by Bacillus velezensis RB.EK7 against Black Pepper Nematodes

چکیده

Among various organic wastes, shrimp shell powder (SSP) was the most suitable carbon/nitrogen source for producing antinematode compounds (ANCs) via Bacillus veleznesis RB.EK7 fermentation. The fermentation process enhancement of activity investigated. B. produced highest in medium containing 0.8% SSP with an initial pH 6.5–7.0, and performed at 35–37 °C a saking speed 150 rpm 72 h. Targeting ANCs were purified from fermented culture broth identified as thymine (1) hexahydropyrrolo [1,2-a]pyrazine-1,4-dione (2) based on nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) mass spectra analysis compared to those reported compounds. Notably, first time, these found novel ANCs. Thymine demonstrated potential nematicidal effect near 100% mortality second-stage juvenile (J2) nematodes anti-egg hatching effects 70.1%, while showed moderate activities 64.2% J2 57.9%. docking study coupled experimental enzyme inhibition results indicated that potent may be possibly due targeting acetylcholinesterase. data this suggest can potentially reused eco-friendly production management black pepper nematodes.

Diffusible and Volatile Antifungal Compounds Produced by an Antagonistic Bacillus velezensis G341 against Various Phytopathogenic Fungi

The aim of this study was to identify volatile and agar-diffusible antifungal metabolites produced by Bacillus sp. G341 with strong antifungal activity against various phytopathogenic fungi. Strain G341 isolated from four-year-old roots of Korean ginseng with rot symptoms was identified as Bacillus velezensis based on 16S rDNA and gyrA sequences. Strain G341 inhibited mycelial growth of all phy...

Exopolysaccharide production from Bacillus velezensis KY471306 using statistical experimental design.

Exopolysaccharide (EPS) biopolymers produced by microorganisms play a crucial role in the environment such as health and bio-nanotechnology sectors, gelling agents in food and cosmetic industries in addition to bio-flocculants in the environmental sector as they are degradable, nontoxic. This study focuses on the improvement of EPS production through manipulation of different culture and enviro...

Bacillus thuringiensis DB27 produces two novel protoxins, Cry21Fa1 and Cry21Ha1, which act synergistically against nematodes.

Bacillus thuringiensis has been widely used as a biopesticide, primarily for the control of insect pests, but some B. thuringiensis strains specifically target nematodes. However, nematicidal virulence factors of B. thuringiensis are poorly investigated. Here, we describe virulence factors of nematicidal B. thuringiensis DB27 using Caenorhabditis elegans as a model. We show that B. thuringiensi...

Growth enhancement of black pepper (Piper nigrum. L) by a newly isolated Bacillus tequilensis NII-0943

A Gram positive, rod shaped potential strain selected from the pool of a bacterial isolates obtained from the Western ghat forest on the basis of zone of P-solubilization activity. Identification based on 16S rRNA gene sequence reveals that, the strain is of Bacillus species, which shares highest sequence similarity to Bacillus tequilensis NRRL B-41771 (99.5%). Strain NII-0943 was able to produ...

Characterization of a novel lipase from Bacillus sp. isolated from tannery wastes

Kinetics of a lipase isolated from Bacillus sp. was studied. The enzyme showed maximum activity at pH 9 and temperature 60°C. The Michaelis constant (KM 0.31 mM) obtained from three different plots i.e., Lineweaver-Burk, Hanes-Wolf and Hofstee, was found to be lower than already reported lipases that confirmed higher affinity of the enzyme for its substrate p-NPL (p-nitrophenyl laurate). Vmax o...
